Foam And The Latte

I've never been a straight coffee drinker. It's a bit too strong for me. But lattes, soy lattes to be exact, are my jam. Espresso is delicious and with some steamed soy milk you've got yourself an amazing indulgence. The local coffee shop in my town is always my go to for a latte, sometimes even a chai soy with a shot of espresso. But it's a bit difficult to get one after hours, let along keep dropping cash money on one all the time. Fortunately my parents are European and take coffee, particularly espresso, rather seriously. Hence our very own espresso machine that lives in our kitchen. Now I never figured out how to use the contraption, nor did the rents ever let me touch in fear that I might break the pricy thing. Luckily for me, I got a little lesson on how to use it this summer and life has never been better. I can make my very own soy lattes whenever I please and I don't spend a dime or have to drive anywhere. Spectacular. The art of latte making takes a few go-arounds to get the hang of, clearly it's all about the foam. And all the years I worked in restaurants and had to make lattes for customers I could never get it right. For some reason our machine allows for perfect and delectable foam every time. I am quite the pro. And this evening was no different. As I sit at home relaxing and watching Sex And The City reruns, don't you dare judge my Friday night activities, I had a craving for a latte and created this little jewel. Fabulous foam. I am enjoying every sip.
