Maggie Moos

April 30th, 2011
Photo #196
So I took a little weekend jet set to Nashville this morning. I didn't really talk a lot about it because I'm kind of superstitious about talking about things before they happen. But I'm down here for the weekend to get my foot in some doors for after graduation. Which by the way, is in 22 days. Freaking out! But it feels so amazing be being back here. When I moved back north two years ago I left my heart here in Nash. When I got my rental car and drove out of the airport this afternoon, I had the windows down sun roof open and country music on the radio. I literally got emotional. The weather was gorgeous, the southern sun was shining, and I knew there was no place I'd rather be. Then I drove through my old neighborhood and I just couldn't be happier. And I went to the malls and went on a shopping spree which made my mood even better. I also got my favorite ice cream from Maggie Moos post shopping spree. I've never had this ice cream any other place but the south and it is just the best. I snapped a photo and texted to my dear friend who lives in Miami. We used to indulge in Maggies all the time when we lived down here. It is the absolute best! Unfortunately my girls aren't in town this evening so I'm just posting up at my wifey's house for a nice relaxing night in. But tomorrow everyone comes back into town and I've got a date with my southern belles and I can not wait!

The Royal Wedding

April 29th, 2011
Photo #195
It is all that anyone has been talking about for the past week, even longer. And the day finally arrived this afternoon when Prince William wed his divine finance Catherine at the highly anticipated royal wedding. Clearly I have been following all the action and totally tuned in bright and early this morning. Let's be real, this is history that just occurred. And what a beautiful and immaculate day it was. The best part about the new heirs to the throne is that they are channging tradition while still keeping it classy and content to the monarch. Although they had to adhere to the total public display of their nuptials, it's all about the little moments that show their true and loving connection with each other. Hence today's choice for the photo. As Catherine approached the altar, where William is not allowed to turn around and look until she arrived, the first thing he did was lean close and tell her she looked beautiful. At least this is what my sources tell me, and I don't doubt it. Just look at their faces. Pure and utter joy oblivious to the world, literally the entire world was watching, around them. Oh come on you know you're dealing with a hopeless romantic here so what else did you expect? Yes, Catherine did literally find her prince charming, but anyone who looks at their love with those eyes and that genuine smile is a keeper no matter how many titles and tiaras come along with them. We will all find that one day.

The weather was nothing short of gorges today. The perfect Ithaca spring day. This shot of lower campus and the lake says it all.

Sweaty Studio

April 27th, 2011
Photo #193
My last Wednesday ever in the studio was this evening. It was a total blast and so bittersweet but my god was it hot! The weather here has been so strange. It's beautiful and warm all day long then right at the end it gets sticky hot and rainstorms like crazy. Today was no different. And being in a windowless studio under bright hot lights does not make for a cool and comfortable experience. Yet someone did draw up this fabulous little board with all our names and the show slogan. Needless to say we were all sweaty and a bit gross. But none the less we had a wonderful time like always and I can't even begin to explain how much I will miss these simple little weekly occasions.

Sleepy Girl

April 26th, 2011
Photo #192
Yup it's this early and I'm going to bed. I am exhausted. I've been doing work, mainly that horrendous English paper, for most of the evening and I can't any longer. Plus there is a huge thunderstorm going on outside which totally constitutes getting cozy in bed nice and early and falling asleep to the sound of the rain.

English Sminglish

April 25th, 2011
Photo #191
We have entered the final stretch. A week from Thursday I will be done with classes for my undergraduate bachelors degree. I just had a moment typing that. It's absolutely ridiculous. And even more ridiculous is the last few things I have to do in terms of schoolwork. More specifically this damn paper for my English class. I am so out of my head in this class it's insane. Every paper I have began I have went to my professor to discuss it thinking I'm on the right track, when I have actually never been so far off in my life. Argh. I'm over it. And this paper is the last thing I want to do. It qualifies as torture and I think my last week of college should be torture free, thank you very much.

Scented Sunday

April 24th, 2011
Photo #190
Happy Easter all my darling readers! Hope everyone got to enjoy family, chocolate and relaxation in any combination. I had quite the lazy Sunday. Part of me wished I was downstate with my family but it was nice to not have to worry about traveling at the same time. And I did even get some school work done this afternoon. Now I'm in my bed nice and early with my favorite candle burning the most lovely scent throughout my whole room. I discovered this candle on a random shopping trip and it is my absolute favorite. And right now being alone and in my bed, able to reflect on all the things in my life right now is a touch easier with this calming candle.

I Am My Own Bliss

April 23rd, 2011
Photo #189
Todays photo is of the necklace I wear every single day. The golden heart charm was a gift from beautiful roommate and life long sister to symbol our friendship. The silver charm reads "bliss" and my incredible hometown friends all have the same thing with different words. To a lot of people bliss is something extremely hard to achieve in ones life. I can completely support that statement as well. Being content and having a life full of bliss is not an easy task. Many things get in the way of it and knock you off your course to maintain happiness and true bliss. I have very recently lost sight of the own bliss in my life. I became so wrapped up and blind to the things that were actually taking away my bliss and my own personal strength. It took a total downfall and emotional breakdown to realize that yes there are many things in life that bring bliss to me, but in the end I am my own bliss. Being comfortable with who I am, what I give, and how I express myself and doing so without comprising it for others who really just don't see that light in me is bliss. From now on I know how to make my own happiness and what to allow myself to deserve as bliss. I've had this reminder around my neck every day for the past few years and it finally soaked through my skin and into my heart where I can now have that strength and bliss no matter who or what tries to absolve it from me.

Cheers One Month

April 22nd, 2011
Photo #188
Today marks the official one month left until graduation. Unreal and unacceptable. Now it's really starting to set in, along with the denial. Which give us even more of a reason to take full advantage of happy hour specials and letting caution go to the wind. Hence today's photo taken circa 6:30pm. How gorges are my friends? I adore them immensely and can't even begin to imagine spending an early Friday evening any other way. Four weeks, thirty days, one month...what ever way you look at it's nonstop living in the moment from here on out.

Running On Dunkin

April 21st, 2011
Photo #187
Today I was so lazy. Ugh it was terrible. I couldn't get out of bed for my first class and totally slept in. Thanks in part to Wednesday celebrations and my cold that just won't go away. This evening I was looking forward to laying low watching a movie and just relaxing. All I wanted was to be cozy. But of course peer pressure and the ever present excuse of school ending way too soon came over me and here I am hitting the town. I had to stop for a latte for some energy or else I don't think I would have made it. But for real this time I am being responsible and getting the rest I need. Just after I celebrate for a bit.

Entertaining Seniors

April 20th, 2011
Photo #186
Tonight is last episode of our weekly production of Entertainment 16. I can't even talk about it. I have been a part of this show since first semester of my freshman year. It has given me so much knowledge and experience that has taken me many so places of success. And even more so I've made the most fabulous friends throughout this process. We've spent an entire day each week together for the last four years and nothing can ever replace this. Tonight is definitely the first reality check/slap in the face that college is in fact going to be over in a few short weeks. This is so surreal and I feel like I'm in a daze. As excited as I am to graduate and take on the next adventure of my life, part of me wants to stay in the moment of these last few nights of college forever. Let's just never grow up.

Senior Seder

April 19th, 2011
Photo #185
Happy Passover to all! I am so fortunate enough to have an incredible group of Jewish friends who, just because they are away at school, do not skip over their religious celebrations. And I mean who doesn't love and delicious feast on a Tuesday night with all your friends and some wine? Delicious may not even come close to what this Seder dinner was. Oh my goodness every single traditional dish was incredible. There was so much matza I couldn't stop myself. Then there was roasted chicken, brisket, veggies, of course matza ball soup, and some other extremely tasty Israeli treats. It was so great to just get a big group of all us seniors together and gather around yummy food and have quality times. One of my favorite things is opening up different cultural traditions to groups of friends and having them successfully bring us all together for a good night with good intentions. Plus how adorable is this photo of the whole group?? L'chaim!

The Giggles

April 18th, 2011
Photo #184
A big happy birthday to my exquisite roommate A-Team this evening. We had a lovely evening with the proper celebrations. Of course a trip to Purity was first on the list. Everyone needs ice cream on their birthday, along with balloons which were left as a little surprise for the birthday girl when she came home today. As you can see from the photo today she got a card that literally makes you LOL and a cute little scented bag to hold all sorts of fun goodies. We ventured over to our neighbors for a bit which always guarantees some strange shenanigans. Tonight's consisted of watching this mind blowing show called Human Planet. Of you haven't seen it, check it out because, as mentioned above, it's gonna blow your mind. Once we came home we found ourselves in a raging fit of the giggles. We literally couldn't stop. I can't tell you how good it felt to laugh so hard it hurts and at something that probably wasn't even funny. A new definition of the giggles was created this evening. And with it's meanings that have been decided, I definitely need some more giggles in my life.

Soothing Inspiration

April 17th, 2011
Photo #183
I was totally right in my post yesterday. I have come down with a cold. Nooo fun what so ever. But I managed to force myself up and out to make it back upstate to school early this afternoon. I pushed through and got some grocery shopping and group meetings done. But oy vey was I tired. When I finally got home early in the evening, I was totally intent on getting at least a bit of work done but the couch and my blanket became such a better idea. With some soup for dinner and tea to officially wind down, I think I made a great decision. Even more so, there was some wonderful quotable inspiration on my tea bag. I've always believed that love is exactly how it is stated here. I can only hope that all of the love in my life and any new love that makes it way into the rest will continue to follow the path of kindness and compassion that it already has.

Rainy Day Delight

April 16th, 2011
Photo #182
Today was the definition of a struggle. After last nights hometown celebrations I was feeling extremely under the weather all day. I was supposed to get my booty back upstate this afternoon but I was just not feeling up to the ride at all. Plus I do feel like I am coming down with a little something. But I'd like to blame that in part on the weather. It was so rainy, still is actually, and gloomy all day. My big cozy bed and some movies was honestly a touch more appealing than hauling three hours in the car. I do feel bad I missed out on a weekend with everyone at school, but am I just one those who likes a good lazy day to myself where I can turn of my brain and be in my own little atmosphere. I especially like to indulge on days like these as well. Hence the delectable cookies and milk I had this evening. They are a total weakness of mine and my Momma knows so she presented me with fresh chocolate chip cookies and nice cold glass of soy milk. Momma does know best. Yet I do sometimes get that little ping somewhere inside that wants to be able to indulge and enjoy days like to today with some other significant, along side my pup of course. Hopeless romanticism at it's finest.

Home Opener

April 15th, 2011
Photo #181
First off, Happy Tax Day! Hope everyone got their governmental papers in on time this year. Second of all, I'm back in my hometown for just tonight and the quintessential summer spot and outdoor bar has opened for the season. It's a bit of a crazy house. Lots of randos and people you don't really want to see, but also those who you haven't seen in forever and love seeing at the few occasions you're home. But I'm with some of my dearest friends and we have libations and laughs. Happy Friday!

I arrived in the city this evening and within ten minutes I changed my attire to "dress to impress", jumped in a cab, and entered a penthouse/rooftop party for Autism Awareness. Quite the whirlwind but so worth it. The chance to mix and mingle in a fabulous location for a good cause? I'm all about it. Thank you New York City.

Never Let Go

April 13th, 2011
Photo #179
Despite the painful reality of having to really let some things go and stop waiting for a chance that isn't guaranteed to happen, there are some things in life that you just can't let go of because they will never let go of you. Coming home to my adoring family waiting up in bed for me with smiles and love, and of course my incredible dog who hasn't left my side since I walked in the door, are what make me remember that some things really are concrete and fulfilling. While other things, well sometimes reality hurts and it's a hard pill to swallow but if the strength isn't the same on both ends, holding on just isn't something to keep trying to do. So as I lay here in my big cozy bed with my pup taking up more than half of it I feel I am that much more able to let the things go that aren't holding on to me as much as I am to them. And instead focus on the things that are so very near ahead of me that I have to power to reach out and grab with all my strength geared towards, because those are the things that will bring me happiness.

Mock Interview

April 12th, 2011
Photo #178
The next few days are going to be nothing short of hectic. I landed myself another interview in NYC which is really exciting. Although it maybe for an internship it's a foot in another door and a new hand to shake with a connection to make. There is just a lot of preparations to take on before heading into the city. A touch overwhelming but I'm trying to keep it calm cool and collected. A wonderful family friend of mine works in the industry and has helped me out immensely with my success in my internships and what not. So tonight he took some time out to help me with a mock interview and critique me to make my impression unforgettable. I feel more prepared for sure. I'm just trying to get all the things running wild in head to focus on the here and the now. This is what matters and this is what is going to get me where I need to be and where I want to be. Practice makes perfect.

Rooftop Reading

April 11th, 2011
Photo #177
It was a lovely spring day today. Waking up bright and early to 60 degree weather and being able to hit the running trail outside was such a great way to start and something I have really missed during these cold months. Not to mention I got to wear flip flops all day. Ah the warm weather is welcomed with open arms. And when I finished my day in the late afternoon I was able to perch on our roof and get some reading done while enjoying the amazing weather. Not a bad Monday if I do say so myself.

Sweet Tooth

April 10th, 2011
Photo #176
Today was the quintessential definition of a lazy Sunday afternoon. Although this morning I did bust my little booty to get a rather large paper done, but once that was over I made it a point to relax and take a load off. And then I made some delicious dinner and got to enjoy it with my roommate and a dear friend of mine. Now after dinner I always have a serious sweet tooth. Well I always have a serious sweet tooth but after dinner it really turns on the cravings, mostly for ice cream. There is a place here in Ithaca, Purity Ice Cream, that I absolutely die for. It is the best ice cream around. Locally made and always fresh. So needless to say I was looking forward to going and getting a cup of mocha chip or finger lakes tourist like no other. But as we arrived the place was so packed that the line was out the door. Total disappointment, especially for someone who has little to no patience. We still had to fill our ice cream craving so decided to go Friendly's. What an epic fail that was. I guess I'll have to go get my Purity fix again this week when it's not prime time hours.

Engagement

April 9th, 2011
Photo #175
I received some of the greatest news this afternoon. My best friend since we were 12 got engaged to her wonderful boyfriend of four years today. They celebrated their anniversary and he took the step to propose and finally head down the aisle to marriage. I could not be more overjoyed for them both. Their relationship has been a beautiful thing that our entire close group friends have been able to watch, be a part of, and support. And we all knew, it was about time! But all seriousness I can't be more happier. Todays photo is from the summer and a classic picture of our wonderful and supportive friendship. I just had to make today's post for her and this momentous event in her life. They both have found that once in a life time spark, connection, and love that will last all the rest of their days. And when you find something like that you never let it go.

My Favorite Things

April 7th, 2011
Photo #173
Oh my gosh today was the longest day ever. I was running around all morning and then on campus all day long. Lots to do. But I got some great news, not to mention the cocktail that now resides in my hand, that my BFF is coming to visit me in a few weeks. And right before I got that news I snapped this photo of my key chain which has my favorite little things on it. The heart being from my best friend before we left for college. We both have the same key chain that that says "two halves equal a whole". Along side my bedazzled elephant, which we all know are my favorite, it was just so nice to capture. Loves it!

Should Have Been In The 80s

April 6th, 2011
Photo #172
It's a typical Wednesday evening post where the photo comes from the studio shenanigans of our weekly show. My co-host and I are pretty much obsessed with each other and always have a blast on set. As you can see from today's photo we had a little photo booth sesh in between takes and commercial breaks. We were looking pretty fly this evening if I do say so myself, even though our producers considered our outfits to be clashing and warned us not to wear black and white again. What do they know! We happened to think that if we showed up to a party circa 1983 we would be the cats meow.

Laugh Out Loud

April 5th, 2011
Photo #171
I found this little gem in my photo library and actually LOLed when I saw it. I honestly have no idea when this was taken but clearly it was a great time. I can only hope that after these last six weeks of college (holy crap not ok) that times and photos like these continue more than frequently. It seems in the last couple months we've all grown together so much more and really become part of each other. The group of friends here that I have are incredible. As much as I'm pretty much over the whole schoolwork aspect of college, I don't think I ever want times like these to end. I'm officially on the search for Peter Pan.

What A Success

April 3rd, 2011
Photo #169
After a rather serious struggle, we made it back to Ithaca safe and sound this evening. I can't even tell you how much fun this weekend was. We laughed, danced, sang, and made some amazing new friends. Getting away with my girls and heading far far away to meet some new and rather interesting people was exactly what I needed. Every day and night was a nonstop fun fest. We did so much and hung with some really great people. Plus, every night good music was blasting and we were dancing our little booties off. Today's photo was snapped last night just before the dance party began and took full effect. It's a great shot of half our group and I figured it would some up the weekend rather nicely. Not going to lie, my body is a bit shot. All that dancing and what have you went into the wee hours of the morning every night so we didn't get a solid amount of sleep all weekend. But I'm in bed now reflecting on the trip as a whole and it was by far worth it. This is what being young and almost leaving college is all about. The spontaneous trips to a new and fun place where you can forget about all your worries and not have a care in the world except what song the DJ will play next. I've got all night to recuperate and catch up on the sleep that was absolutely, without a doubt, worth losing for the weekend we all had.

The Eye of Mystery

April 2nd, 2011
Photo #168
Oh wow. This weekend has been a nonstop marathon. My body and dignity are hurting. But it has been a more than worthwhile getaway. This photo came from a car ride to a pizza place where we all piled in to catch half price happy hour appetizers. It was a quality car ride and once we got there we ran into many a old friends. The world is so small it's crazy. You always know someone wherever you go and always leave with new friends, yet it's all a bit of a mystery.

Stump

April 1st, 2011
Photo #167
Happy April Fools!! I wish I had some really clever and funny joke/prank to share with y'all but I don't. After departing Ithaca at 6am we made it to Virginia by 12:30 and wasted no time celebrating spring and the first day of the new month. Everyone here has been nothing but wonderful and we have had the best afternoon. We even learned a new game! Stump is probably the most dangerous and risky game that involves beer. Essentially you have to flip and hammer in the air, catch it, and hammer down another persons nail on the stump. Quite the entertainment. But so very interesting to try and capture on film. As you can see D was a little confused in trying to get in on the game. But she totally became a champion, along with the rest of us, by the end of the afternoon. And now, alas! It's five o'clock. Time for the weekend to officially begin. Thanks NCUR for given us the time off to come down and celebrate a girls get away!!
