Photo #76
Oh wow. 2010 is ending in circa two hours. Really surreal. I have had an amazing evening at my house with dinner drinks and amazing new friends. After some tasty drinks to get ready for the new year, we decided to have a bit of a photo shoot in my kitchen. This one was a total keeper. Such a perfect and fabulous new way to start 2011. Its a crazy time. Can't believe it's here. This is the year I graduate college and the year everything changes. I'm ready for it. I'm starting this new year on a new foot with new aspirations and additions in my life. I couldn't be happier. 2011 I am ready for you. Let's do this. 5..4..3..2..1....

Years And Years

December 30th, 2010
Photo #75
Another year is about to come to an end. Incredible. With the year closing and winter break slowly dwindling, I made a point to head out to the local watering hole to see my girls this evening. It's amazing how many new years and new beginnings we've celebrated and enjoyed together. And how things just keep getting better and better. I can't say it enough how lucky I am to have these beautiful young women in my life. And tomorrow is going to be a big and crazy celebration of yet another year of bliss, love, success, and happiness.

Real Love Right Here

December 29th, 2010
Photo #74
Today has been quite the day. I made my way back upstate after a few great days in the city and had myself a lazy afternoon. Took a bit of a nap and painted my nails. Dinner with my lovely girlfriends fell through which was a bit of a bummer and kind of set the mood for the rest of the evening. This can be described as frustrated/not fun. After a semi-successful drive to clear my head to blaring music I made my way back home to be greeted by my always lovely puppies. Which I immediately turned into a serious and needed snuggle session with Jade. She's a big proponent of giving endless kisses and attacked the hell out of me when I jumped in to snuggle her. I had to capture this moment. No matter how upset I am she is always there for me, waiting with kisses and love. My dog really is my best friend. She brings up my spirits when I'm down and for a few moments puts my mind at ease to remind me it's all just a small bump in the road.

закуска

December 28th, 2010
Photo #73
Well hello Tuesday evening I have some fun in store for you. I'm still enjoying my stay here in the city and this new boy I know just returned from Russia and decided to enlighten a few of us on some Russian drinking ways. Over in their land they don't chase with shots with a fruity or tasty drink, oh no lets remember this is Russia we are talking about. They instead eat pickles or olives, but most preferably pickles, to cut the chase of the vodka. It's referred to as "закуска" which is translated to appetizers. So here we are at the apartment in Chelsea on a Tuesday night watching the Knicks game and taking on some vodka, Russian style.
Waaah. Just tried the whole pickle following vodka and it's rather interesting but it does work. Good idea Russia. I might just be a fan of your ways.

Blizzard Of 2010

December 27th, 2010
Photo #72
Welcome to the aftermath of the blizzard that is NYC. Holy hell did it snow like crazy last night. The grand total is over 20 inches. And for New York that is borderline catastrophic. The streets are buried under tons and tons of snow and as you can see by the adjoining photo we now how to dig the car out to even get in. But even so, the sun is shining and the sky is blue today. So minus the trekking through a tundra to get anywhere it is actually pretty beautiful. Good thing my driver has got himself a Jeep with four wheel drive so there is a possibility we will be free at some point later today. But you know what, I don't hate being snowed in. I've got myself a new book to read and later on we are even going to venture out into the land of snow to catch a movie and some dinner. Quality Monday so far if you ask me.

Boxing Day

December 26th, 2010
Photo #71
Today I had the pleasure of being involved in a new tradition. Boxing Day was originally created in England when the upper class would give their lower class servants the day after Christmas off and offer them a few gifts. So today I came down to NYC for a Boxing Day party and it was absolutely wonderful. Lots and lots of gifts were exchanged. Good food was enjoyed. And even more wine was drank. To top it all off, there is a massive blizzard in the tri-state area so we are snowed in. It's beautiful and wonderful all at the same time. I'm one lucky girl to be invited here and involved with this new tradition. Life couldn't get better. Happy Boxing Day y'all!

Christmas Warmth

December 25th, 2010
Photo #70
Merry Christmas to all! Today was a jam packed day full of presents food and family. Three rather great things if you ask me. And man am I exhausted. But it was all worth it. My brothers and my mom and I all received hand made slippers this year. They are probably the coziest things ever. I am a huge proponent of slippers and these completely meet my standards. Plus how cute is it that our little family matches. Awww. Adorable. I couldn't have asked for a better Christmas this year. Lots of love. Quality family time. Indulging in delicious food. Plus some new additions to start the new year off on a good foot. It's been a wonderful holiday and I hope nothing but the exact same and more for everyone else.

Swissmas Eve

December 24th, 2010
Photo #69
Merry Christmas Eve followers! I hope each and every one of you are enjoying good times with those you love. After going into town for the annual arrival of Santa my family and I came home for a scrumptious dinner. Which was followed with the opening of all our stocking stuffers. Every year all five of our stockings get hung on the staircase and slowly filled with little fun gifts that we either open one day at a time or all at once on Christmas. But the thing in our household is that in order for us to open stocking stuffers we all need to be present and together. So tonight since it is the night before Christmas and we were all here we got to open all our stuffers. It was just wonderful. Me my brothers and my parents sat in circle by the fireplace with the the pups in the middle and we took turns opening our goodies. And my mamma even let us open one of our big presents that are saved for Christmas morning. Thanks to the early gift opening I am now blogging with amazing new hand knitted slippers leg warmers and hobo mittens. But tonight was just such a wonderful holiday moment. Great times with the whole family is all that I could ask for. As I've mentioned in my earlier blog about the holidays, my Swiss stepdad acts like a big old Grinch around this time of year so he has yet another reason to knock on Americans. Secretly inside he enjoys it, I know it. But he got the best stocking stuffer this year, this lovely hat found it's way in there. It says "Bah Humbug". The classic anti-Christmas slogan. It was the perfect gag gift and we all got a laugh. He was even a great sport and wore the hat for a bit while he scratched off a lotto ticket he also received. Which he ended up winning $30. I think that might have lifted his holiday spirits a bit. I'm just glad to be surrounded by love and family this holiday season. And I hope nothing but the same and more to everyone else. Rest up y'all, Santa comes in a few hours!

Birthday Love

December 23rd, 2010
Photo #68
First of all... Happy 22nd birthday La!!!! My post today, as I write it in NYC rush hour traffic, is dedicated to my sister on her birthday. After the evening we had last night in Atlantic City, today was a nice relaxing and lazy day of baking and fun. The birthday girl and her always adorable pooch Darla had a little bonding moment at the kitchen table this afternoon. The pup was looking for treats and snacks while the freshly turned 22 year old was all in it for the snuggles. It's a tough life but someone has to do it. I could not pass up this moment and miss out on the great photo. Darla looks like a little kid sitting on La's lap. Oh the unconditional love of your dog, even on birthdays.

How Festive

December 22nd, 2010
Photo #67
Here I am in Atlantic City celebrating my best friend/sister's 22nd birthday. We started the night off with an incredible and delicious dinner at a great seafood restaurant. Every bit of it was unbelievable. Then we headed over to Caesar's Palace for a little celebratory gambling on the roulette table. As we entered the immaculately designed hotel and casino we were greeted by the larger than life statue of Caesar himself. And please note the festive Santa hat that is adorned on his head. I just had to grab a quick photo. Leave it to the casinos to deck all the halls with nothing but holiday spirit. And to top the amazing evening off, the birthday girl walked away with $200! Get it girl! I was so happy to be here to celebrate and enjoy with my second family. It's never a dull moment and all my love goes out to my beautiful sister on the first anniversary of her 21st birthday!

Mani Pedi

December 21st, 2010
Photo #66
Today was quite the day and it involved a slight little break down/freak out. I found myself at the doctors this morning after discovering an odd lump on my body. I'm going to spare all the details but now I'm on antibiotics and doing time consuming regimens to get rid of it. I have so so much going on in the next couple days so this seriously cramping my style. Not only is Christmas in less than a few days, I'm going to be traveling for birthday celebrations and much needed, long awaited reunions. So this whole being in pain and having to deal with doctors and medicines is the absolute last thing I need or want. When I finally made it back home this afternoon, thank goodness for my best friend coming to my reuse with lunch at that phenomenal health food store I've previously blogged about, I got some cleaning and packing done then laid on my bed and haven't gotten up since. That was about two hours ago. But I've been productive in my horizontal state. I mean clearly I'm blogging so that's a positive. I also gave myself a little manicure and pedicure. I'm one of those freaks who constantly needs their nails painted. I do all kinds of colors and shades and like to change my polish once a week. The last few days my fingers and toes have been completely naked. I made the responsible choice to let them breathe for a while but after today I needed some color and a pick me up. On my toes I did my absolute fav Essie shade Ador-a-ball. It's pale and simple considering I live in wool socks and boots this time of year. And my nails got a fresh coat of Mochaccino. I adore deep dark shades this time of year on my nails. Plus I love indulging in mochaccinos so why not have it on my nails all the time? Regardless of the insane pain I'm now in, I will not let it ruin my pre-holiday plans or holiday celebrations. As I like to live by, hakuna matata!

Wrapping Skills

December 20th, 2010
Photo #65
Christmas is five days away. Waaah! Today I decided to get my situation together and do all my last minute shopping so I could wrap all these bad boys up. I have to say I did pretty well this year with the whole buying gifts situation. I usually don't have a lot of people to buy for because my family is pretty small so that works out in my favor. I did however have to get a few other gifts this year for some new special people in my life and family. Regardless I succeeded. I got some funky and creative things that should make the receiver of the gift smile and enjoy. Now when it comes to wrapping I have no skills, rhythmically or present speaking. I just can't master the whole folding of the corners and taping them up neatly. It drives me bonkers every single time. Today was the same old story but I managed to get through it. So here on my dresser sits all of the presents I intend to give this year. I can't put them under the tree until Christmas morning because my dogs like to peak and open the presents as soon as they get underneath there. It's a nice little festive addition to my room though. It's going to be so empty up there in five days. But it will be oh so worth it!

Tough Life

December 19th, 2010
Photo #64
Confession...I'm laying in bed about to pass out and realized I didn't blog today. I only have fifteen minutes left of the day and didn't have the time or energy to offer up taking a worthwhile photo. But I did however snap this pic about a day ago while I was cleaning my house. We all know my immense obsession with my dogs so this is no different. The best part about this photo is not only how freaking adorable my girls are but it's the fact they are sharing the same bed and somewhat snuggling! Lola and Jade have a bit of a love hate relationship. I brought Jade home after my Momma had Lola for about a year and little miss Lolita was very used to being the only dog in the house and being down right spoiled. So when I moved upstate to college and left my little moose behind Lola didn't take it so well. They have had their words and bites with each other but at the end of the day they are sisters and love each other. This moment was too wonderful not to get a photo. And what a tough life they have. Constant love and attention. Snuggles and kisses on the reg. Really good food all the time. And a bed by the fire. Seriously? I hope in my next life I return as a dog.

Trimming The Tree

December 18th, 2010
Photo #63
It's that time of year! The most wonderful time of the year to be correct. Christmas is one week from today. Wow! This came out of nowhere. But I have to admit I'm excited. I know how cliche it is but there really is something about this time of the year that is special. The entire holiday season brings on that feeling. From Thanksgiving through New Years there is something in the air that just brightens your spirits and makes you want to be surrounded by the ones you love. My always lovely and still crazy family makes it somewhat of a tradition each year to decorate the Christmas tree together. My brothers and I are all together, along with the pups and my Swiss stepdad that tries to act like a Grinch but secretly loves the whole thing. And my Momma, who bless her heart has the worst voice in the world, turns up classic and oh so cheesy Christmas music and sings her little heart out. I caught this moment of her putting the finishing touches on the tree while grooving to "Santa Clause Is Coming To Town". She's a peach and I love her too much. Not to mention the tree looks fantastic. As they say, it's beginning to look a lot like Christmas!

Nice And Juicy

December 17th, 2010
Photo #62
I like to consider myself a rather healthy eater. Yes we all know I love food and have the full power to indulge, but I really like to keep things light and fit while still being tasty. I was a vegetarian for about two years, I still don't incorporate red meat at all, but that ended this past summer with my body's absolute dire need for a turkey sandwich. When my body is screaming at me with cravings I am not the person to let that go ignored. One thing I've been wanting to have more of on a daily basis is fresh juices. We don't have a very apt juicer here at my house so I had to settle for the organic bottled ones at the store. I loaded up on all different kinds when I took a little trip to my favorite local health food store. I spent a pretty good amount of time there this summer checking out their prepared foods for lunch on a date here and there. It's a health foodie's wonderland. They have everything under the organic and non-processed sun. There is even an entire vegetable and fruit juice aisle. It was lovely to roam around there this afternoon and I came away with a slight cart full of delicious and fresh juices. Hopefully this will be a new and positive addition to my daily intake of nutrients and vitamins. Being juicy never hurt anyone!

Jingle Balls

December 16th, 2010
Photo #61
Today concluded the NYC getaway and we had to include some holiday essentials before we left. This morning we ventured out to Bryant Park to observe the ice skaters and many other holiday goodies. It was darling there this afternoon. A little on the crowded side, but manageable. Then we were on a serious mission to find Santa and get our picture taken with him. The source of our mission was Macy's in Harold Square. Santaland is located on the eighth floor so we trekked ourselves up there. Once we arrived there was a line of no joke 1000 people. The majority consisting of children under the age of four. Talk about overwhelming. So after standing on line with quite the mix of people for over an hour, we reached Santa. It was all a little anticlimactic but hilarious none the less. We arrived in Santa's area and found ourselves sitting next to a guy who was our age in a Santa suite. He enjoyed the two of us sitting next to him a bit too much and held on a little too tightly. After awkwardly asking the two of us what we wished for him to bring us this year, which I politely asked for a source of employment when I receive my bachelors degree, his little elf helper snapped a few photos with her fancy camera. We thought holding hands would be just a lovely little portrait but as you can see our hand holding was rather inappropriately placed near the Santa impostor's south pole. Yet no one decided to tell us because he was enjoying it more than he should have. When we found our way out of the overly-decorated holiday cave we were greeted by another elf, this one with a computer, to show us our portrait. We actually died when we saw this and couldn't resist purchasing a 6x8 and a sheet of wallets. It was the icing on the cake of our city adventure and it is oh so classy. As I sit on the Trailways bus back upstate, thanks for the free WiFi by the way, I can't help but smile at the site of two young women in their twenties posed with Santa in an extremely awkward and slightly inappropriate manner. I told you, hilarious. Happy holidays followers!!

The Russian Bath House

December 15th, 2010
Photo #60
What an experience today has been. So we all know NYC has everything and anything you could possibly need want or desire. Which is wonderful for adventures and good times. This afternoon we made our way over to the East Village to dabble in the world of Russian and Turkish bath houses. You basically go down into an indoor pool style area where there are five different steam rooms and saunas. There are aromatherapy steams, red wood saunas, Turkish rooms, and the Russian rooms. That one was absolutely the hottest room I have ever been in. It gets so hot that there is a constant supply of freezing cold water that you need to continuously dump on yourself so you don't burn your skin. Then you just rotate from room to room and sweat your little booty off along with all the toxins that have entered your body in the last week. Talk about rejuvenating. It was definitely a once in a life time experience that I was glad to indulge in. From my sources I hear experiencing the bath house in Russia is much more intriguing and legit. But I think today totally passed my expectations and I enjoyed it immensely. Plus we made some darling Russian friends who worked there which made it all that much more lovely.

Welcome To New York

December 14th, 2010
Photo #59
Ahhh NYC how I missed you dearly. I haven't frequented these streets since the summer time and it feels to good to be back. Except for the fact that it is absolutely frigid outside. But it's totally worth braving the cold for. My beautiful and lovely friend T is along side me the next couple of days and the antics and adventures have already started. We are lucky enough to have a place in Tribeca to stay at although we will be galavanting around constantly these next few days. We are all bundled up and ready for some sushi and dancing. And of course just good old fashion catching up and girl time. This is a much needed trip because our lives have been pulling us both in different directions. I couldn't be happier to be here with gorgeous T in the concrete jungle where dreams are made of.

So Professional

December 13th, 2010
Photo #58
Although break is a time to unwind and enjoy the time off from school, which do not get me wrong I am fully partaking in as I type this from my couch while watching made for TV holiday love story movies with my dog, I'm still squeezing in some business while I'm home. There is a big event down in NYC in January with a ton of IC alums and it's a huge chance to network and hopefully get my foot in the door. And, fingers crossed, quite possibly lead to a job offer post graduation! I decided that maybe I should take some baby steps to pumping up my business professional facade. This includes some new wardrobe pieces which are crucial, but I also invested in some personalized business cards. Instead of tossing out my resume left and right which can be a bit on the bulky side I figure why not a simple little chic card that's got the info needed to get in contact with me. Not going to lie it was pretty exciting to get these little jewels in the mail. So now comes the effort to get them circulating in the right direction and into the right hands. Maybe my getaway to the city tomorrow is the perfect place to start.

Pomegranate Bliss

December 12th, 2010
Photo #57
Today was the first official day home and the official end to my fall semester. I woke up rather early this morning and finished my last and final paper in bed with my pup by my side. The weather was horrendous all day today. Lots and lots of pouring rain. But that didn't stop my best friend and I from a little sushi and shopping. Two of my favorite things that start with the letter S. And then I met my dearest friend at our old place of employment/ where we first met and started our beautiful relationship. We had some yummy drinks and delicious apps and discussed our upcoming NYC getaway that will be starting on Tuesday morning. Yoga. Zuma. Spa. Food. Movies. Everything wonderful is on our to do list. It will be the perfect escape to get my mind off of a few things that seem to be consuming my every thought. Good things mind you. I just need some quality rejuvenation time. Which I happen to have started this evening by indulging in an extremely hot bubble bath. The pomegranate bath gel smells amazing and that book I posted about is opening up as soon as I finish this post and put my iPhone down. And I think now is a great time for that. Hope everyone is having a blissful Sunday.

Much Needed Rest

December 11th, 2010
Photo #56
I finally made it home for winter break this evening. The trip took longer than usual on a count of ridiculously slow drivers and a run in with the law. Let's not freak out. I just got pulled over for a tail light being out. Which of course resulted in a ticket. But apparently it can easily be taken care of if I get the light fixed Monday. So silly. But now I'm home, all unpacked and ready to relax. Technically I still have one more paper to write and then I will officially be done with the fall semester. That is first thing on my list tomorrow though. Right now my big cozy bed is calling my name and I'm about to jump all over it. And to make it even more inviting I have a new book to read! I haven't had the time or patience to sit down and read a book for personal pleasure since long before August. Just another reason to be so happy to be home. This much needed, and much deserved thank you very much, rest could not be better. I don't plan on getting out of this bed for quite a while.

Premiere Night

December 10th, 2010
Photo #55
As they say in the industry...that's a wrap! Tonight was the perfect end to the semester. Our senior thesis film premiered this evening and everything was a total hit. My mom and aunt came into town for support and the house was packed. I couldn't resist snapping this pic of our movie poster right outside the auditorium. And a BIG thank you to everyone who came out and showed their support. Makes all the hard work and time even that much more worth it.

Home Free

December 9th, 2010
Photo #54
Today was officially my last day of classes for the fall semester of my senior year! Holy hell. I mean technically I was supposed to have one last class tomorrow morning but my adorably lovely professor made the executive decision that we don't have to go. I don't know what it is but I have seriously lucked out this finals week. I was scheduled to go home Monday afternoon when I finished my one and only final, hence the photo of my planner with Monday's box all filled out and ready to roll. But that final got changed to a take home essay due via email by next Wednesday. So viola! I have no finals this semester and get to go home two days earlier! I would stay the weekend but the weather isn't supposed to be so hot Sunday and Monday so I'm just gonna get out early instead of chancing it and maybe getting stuck here longer. Now all I have to do is crank out these last few take home essays, premiere the film, pack and then I'm home free! Not going to lie it's really crazy and strange that this all worked out so beautifully. I'm really hoping that nothing tremendously bad needs to happen in order for this all to go right. But you know what, I'm keeping positive thoughts!

Director's Notes

December 8th, 2010
Photo #53
Wednesday are the longest day of the week for me. With classes in the mornings, followed by a 2.5 hour night class, and top it off with shooting the TV show right after that it is exhausting. By the time I get down to the studio and have to do script notes and get myself ready to be live on camera I am shot. To say the least it was a bit of a relief to know that tonight was the last night of the semester I had to truck through a long midweek day. Tonights episode of the show was actually a fun one though. This week we decided to do a switch cast. Meaning all of us who are talent are thrown behind the scenes and into the control room while our usual crew awkwardly glams up to be in front of the camera. Recipe for hilarious bloopers let me tell you. I took on the position of director for tonights episode and it's funny because that's actually what I would love to do for a future career, direct live shows and events. It's a total blast and being in control of a creative production where mistakes can't really happen. It gives me a rush. So before going on air I was holding down the control room taking some notes on the rundown and I got a little bit distracted. Someone once told me, sarcastically mind you, that I have a one track mind. This was no different. I started doodling on the bottom of the page and that's what I came up with. A little guppy fish. Some times you need a little distraction here and there.

Protegees

December 7th, 2010
Photo #52
I've blogged a bit about working on my senior thesis film this semester and believe it or not it is premiering this Friday! We screen the final, well in the production world nothing is ever exactly "final" there is always room for change, the other day in class and it looks bomb! There were a few technical errors, but nothing that can't be fixed with a little extra time in the edit bay. But I do have to say, all the other groups working on this same thesis concept have been putting in serious work as well. It's pretty much crunch time yet we can feel being in the clear. Especially with having to premier in what, three days? Just like everyone who I've worked on my film with, all the other students in my class are incredibly talented and creative individuals. It's been a blast working with them this semester and getting their artistic judgment and critiques. We've all be doing as much press as possible to get a big crowd of people to attend our screening Friday and while in class we thought, why not take a class photo? With the wonders of Mac Photobooth we were able to change around a few settings and get all us all into one photo strip picture. These always turn out hilarious. Side note, taking these type of four-photo stip pics are one of my most all time favorite things to do. Especially when on vacation or just having a great day, they are the best way to capture a perfect set of spontaneous moments. I live for finding these old school booths. Anyways, we managed to get everyone in the picture and every single face and expression is priceless. Obviously it was forwarded to our professor so he can have a beautiful memory of his favorite class. Can't wait until this little gem resurfaces ten years down the road when we've all got high-power successful industry jobs. Positive and wishful thinking!

Winter's Here

December 6th, 2010
Photo #51
Ahh winter has officially pushed itself through fall's door and made a permanent stay. You don't even know how cold it is. It is horrendous. As you can see by this snap shot of the weather forecast snow is pretty much staying around. Oh don't be fooled by those little cartoon sunshine. Take a look at the temperature. FREEZING. Not to mention the last week of classes began today so it's all just hammering down this week. Extremely cold weather and extremely annoying/stressful school work. Boo. Not the happiest camper right now. Time to blast the only playlist that has been allowing me to survive this semester from the start and let my headphones put me to sleep.
Good night moon.

Hair Flare

December 5th, 2010
Photo #50
Before I begin, I'd like to point out and have a little celebration for the fiftieth photo! Along with that means fifty days of blogging. Whoew! This has been such a fun little project and I can't believe it has been underway for this long already. To all my readers, the few and the precious, thank you for the fifty days of support and I hope you continues for the next 315. But anywho, today has been quite the lazy Sunday. It's the calm before the storm of the last week of classes and finals. To make this day even more splendid I was invited to attend a great high school friend of mines fraternity formal over at Cornell. Talk about a formally packed weekend. But I'm little bit excited for this one tonight, not going to lie. As mentioned before we don't do the whole Greek scene at IC so attending one of these is going to be a different and interesting experience. To keep things fashionable and funky I decided to rock some hair flare this evening. A little bit of feathers and jewels can never hurt a simple navy dress. You have to make a statement somewhere, especially if it's not a scene you don't typically attend. Get ready for some flare Cornell.

A Formal Affair

December 4th, 2010
Photo #49
This photo was taken at the very early hours of today at our formal that I blogged about in the previous post. I really wanted to put up a photo from last nights affair, plus I'm extremely tired and already bed realizing I didn't blog today. Yes, I'm in bed at 11pm on a Saturday night and you know what I don't hate it. This is a half I'm too lazy post and half this photo was just way to great not to blog. We kept it as classy as possible last night while still having an absolute blast. And man oh man did everyone look divine! Props to the senior class for being one dashing group of beautiful people. This photo clearly doesn't do it justice but it was a perfect moment captured. My sister and I have an unexplainable relationship filled with weird and ridiculous antics. If you couldn't tell from this photo, where yes we are trying to wear the same pair of glasses in the midst of dancing, now you can have a bit more of an understanding. Obviously everyone else on the dance floor was too distracted by their drinks or just generally not amused. Hakuna matata! Everyone had their own good time in their own hot mess of a way last night. Undoubtedly a quality evening and a priceless memory from senior year.

I Learned It From Beyonce

December 3rd, 2010
Photo #48
It's a classy affair this evening ladies and gentlemen! Tonight in about two hours the IC Senior Class will be dressed to the nines at our winter formal. Now we don't have Greek life at our college so we are not used to attending these types of events. Everyone is pretty excited for the "Black and White Affair". And any excuse to get dressed up all fancy is fine by me. More so now I can be even more classy after learning this little trick of the trade one of my house mates implemented while we were getting ready. Apparently this is what Beyonce does to break in her high heels before performing in them. Throw on a pair of socks, slip on the heels, and walk around the house in them. Quite the fashion statement. Things seem to be working out pretty well for my little super star over here. I personally just can't wait to dance my little booty off tonight. Whether my heels are broken in or not I'm hitting that dance floor. Let's do this classy affair right Seniors!

Meet Snorelax

December 2nd, 2010
Photo #47
Oh the joys of FaceBook. We can't even try to hide it any more. It's the biggest procrastination/stalking device ever created. Get it Mark Zuckerberg. So of course I was perusing my FB app on my iPhone (another big high five to Steve Jobs) and I get this absolutely amazzzzzing wall post circa 2:30 p.m. My incredible sister/roommate introduced me to Snorelax. Yes that's what I said, Snorelax. While she was desperately too far away from me in her should be homeland of Paris, she encountered a lovely Latino who coined the term "snorelax" for when things are sufficiently boring and not particularly amusing. Now you really have to actually hear how this is pronounced because its all about the accent that makes using "snorelax" in a sentence actually work. But none the less, there is an actual creature deemed Snorelax. Anyone remember the good old fashioned days, before FaceBook mind you, of Pokemon? Ya, I know you do. Well in case it just happened to have slipped your mind, Snorelax is a Pokemon character. And let's get it right, it is the best one ever. I died when I checked my little notifications and found a picture of the actual Snorelax posted on my wall. The absolute highlight to my day and I just had to share it. Look, Snorelax is even waving to you!

It's Beginning To Look A Lot Like Ithaca

December 1st, 2010
Photo #46
Today is a big Wednesday for a lot of things. First off, December has begun! It seriously feels like July 4th was last week. There is no slowing this semester down. Second, it's the first night of eight crazy ones. Happy Hanukkah to all my darling Jewish followers! And to top this day of starters off, it snowed for the first time today! Now for Ithaca this is no big news. Snow in the winter is like graduating college, no matter how hard you try to get away and avoid it, it's still coming. I'm not going to lie, it was pretty gorges to look at the snow falling. Don't get me wrong, I adore the change in seasons. I was born and raised in upstate Ny and my entire life has been based around snow falling every winter. Yet I still get tired of the massive feet of snow that tend to find their way every year. But something about the first snow fall is dare I say it...romantic. Your dealing with a hopeless one at that. It may be cold and a little slushy but the flakes falling where definitely a site to see. As you can see here in this photo, one of the lovely four who live at 504 (the best house ever) was so incredibly excited to encounter the snow fall for a trip with me to the wide world of Wegmans. This is quite the picturesque moment. Absolutely blog worthy.
